The councils of North West Queensland are at the frontline of preparing for and responding to natural disasters in their communities.
Our councils are prepared to be the first point of contact for our communities and visitors to provide information and direction in the event of a natural disaster. Combining their experience and local know-how, the councils of Burke, Carpentaria, Cloncurry, Doomadgee, Flinders, McKinlay, Mount Isa and Richmond have developed the Get Ready NWQ online resource to ensure locally relevant information is easily accessible for locals and visitors. This project is supported by Get Ready Queensland, a Queensland Reconstruction Authority initiative.
